We are proud to serve the citizens of Spokane
  • "The mission of the IAFF starts at the front of a church and works its way backwards" - IAFF President Ed Kelly
This weekend members from local 29 had the solemn privilege to attend a funeral for Local 2099 member Adam Lamb. He served his city and his country honorably, and the stories told by friends and family let us know that we are all worse without him in the world.
Cancer is a miserable disease, and it is also the number one killer of firefighters. So long as our members continue to get cancer, this union will be there to fight it alongside them.
Solidarity forever

  • IAFF Local 29 stands proudly with our LGBTQIA+ siblings this Pride Month. As union members, we know that dignity is not given; it’s demanded, fought for, and earned through struggle.

Bayard Rustin, a Black, gay labor organizer and civil rights leader, once said: “When an individual is protesting society’s refusal to acknowledge their dignity as a human being, their very act of protest confers dignity upon them.” Pride began as a protest; a radical stand against police violence, systemic oppression, and erasure. And it remains a call to action.

Workers have a duty to building a Labor Movement that defends the dignity of every worker; queer, trans, Black, brown, immigrant, and more. In Spokane and across the country, we raise our voices in solidarity and say: we see you, we stand with you, and we will fight beside you.

Happy Pride. Solidarity forever.
